BIOGRAPHY

Darren Evans is a London-based visual artist creating mathematical art and interactive neuromodulation applications. After thirty years as electronic music producer “Darren Sangita”, sudden hearing loss in 2024 forced a radical reinvention – one that has unlocked a visual practice decades in the making.
Foundation: Music & Consciousness
From early childhood, Darren understood sound as a physical, embodied experience. At seven, lying on a electric reed organ, he discovered that certain frequency ratios , fourths and fifths, created profound sensations in his body. This became the foundation of everything that followed: the innate understanding that waves, whether sound or light, carry experiences beyond their physical properties when they reach specific mathematical relationships.
At eleven, coding on his first computer (Commodore 16), he discovered another dimension of this obsession: creating arpeggio runs faster than human hands could play. When notes came fast enough, they stopped being discrete events and became ripples – continuous waves you could feel in your body. He loved code deeply, spent nights reading documentation, understood algorithms conceptually. But ADHD executive dysfunction meant he could envision complex applications in perfect detail yet couldn’t build them. This gap between vision and implementation would persist for forty years.
These early experiences with wave mechanics and code planted seeds that would grow for decades and drove a thirty-year career in electronic music production, performing internationally at major festivals including Boom, Ozora, and Sonica. As Darren Sangita, he released ten albums on his label Sangita Sounds, spent eight years recording with traditional musicians in India, and developed sophisticated MIDI systems for live performance – creating what he called a “sonic spaceship”, utilising touchscreen technology to ensure real-time manipulation of up to 100 audio stems.
His work always focused on one thing: creating spaces where consciousness could expand through precisely engineered frequencies and harmonic relationships. Not only entertainment, but tools for meditation and collective transcendence.

The Transformation
In October 2024, sudden profound deafness struck. The tinnitus that followed screams louder than any music he ever made. COVID-related chronic illness (ME, fibromyalgia) and a recent ADHD diagnosis at age 51 completed a cascade of revelations about his neurodivergent identity while simultaneously ending his performing career.
But loss created possibility. Through AI-assisted “Vibe Coding” – a method learned from his mentor Greg Hunter – Darren finally bridged that forty-year gap between vision and implementation. By conversing with the AI code-mind about mathematical relationships, spiritual intent, and visual phenomena, he could finally create the software he’d envisioned since age eleven but could never build.
Vibe Coding changed everything. In six months of intensive development, he has produced hundreds of experimental generative art apps and created over 1000 original artworks through multiple interactive applications. The ripples he discovered at eleven could finally be made visual.

Current Practise
Wave Harmony Space develops neuromodulation applications and mathematical visualisations for meditation and consciousness expansion. The work translates decades of sonic expertise into visual form – exploring wave interference, sacred geometry, and harmonic resonance through generative art and interactive tools.

Psyvector is his geometric art brand, launching Winter 2025 with over 100 designs for clothing and fine art prints. The work bridges mathematics and mysticism, creating contemplative visual experiences that serve the same purpose his music once did: opening space for inner exploration.
His practice draws on:
•Neurodivergent strategies for sensory processing and atmosphere creation
•30+ years of parameter modulation and frequency relationships
•Deep understanding of how environments affect consciousness
•Professional experience across music, film, and large-scale events

Vision and Development
Darren’s primary goal is developing large-scale architectural projection installations – transforming heritage buildings and public spaces into contemplative environments. He envisions projecting onto waterside buildings, historic architecture, and festival spaces across the UK and internationally, creating free, accessible experiences that invite collective meditation and wonder.
Currently, he is seeking support to:
- Develop professional projection practice and technical knowledge
- Build connections within UK visual arts and projection communities
- Test work at smaller scale through festivals and local installations
- Create professional portfolio and documentation
- Establish sustainable business model through applications, prints, and commissions
His work serves a clear public benefit: creating spaces for wellbeing, consciousness expansion, and collective healing in an increasingly fragmented world. What he once offered through sound, he now provides through light.
During these years, his main focus was MIDI development. Having worked in world-class studios with 48-channel mixing desks, he wanted to harness MIDI technology to create a dub studio on the road – capable of live mixing up to 100 stems of audio. He utilised MIDI Designer, a high-tech MIDI modulation environment for iOS, to build his “sonic spaceship” concept: a system offering almost unlimited psychedelic freedom to morph and manipulate the sound journey in real-time.
In 2012, Darren featured in a national television commercial for a major retailer, showcasing him as a touchscreen music tech specialist. When the production faced challenges, he stepped in to produce the entire audio situation – from studio recording sessions with classical artists, to conceptual framework on audio development, to remixing and live performance. The ad crystallized his focus on the high-tech end of performance, reinforcing his commitment to touchscreen technology as a creative interface.

Artist Statement
“For forty years, I’ve been investigating the same question: what happens when waves – whether sound or light – reach specific mathematical relationships that transform individual elements into something continuous, something that resonates not just physically but emotionally, spiritually?
Through decades studying mantra, Sanskrit shastra, and the nature of vibration’s effect on consciousness and reality itself, I’ve learned that waves carry subtle powers. They move emotions. They shift states of being. They create openings for transformation and that includes consciousness itself.
I create contemplative spaces where mathematics meets mysticism, where discrete becomes continuous, where consciousness has room to flower. This is neuromodulation through engineered atmospherics – using light, geometry, and harmonic principles to create environments that work on multiple levels: physical sensation, emotional resonance, and spiritual opening.
My work is not about spectacle. It’s about creating space. Space for peace, for wonder, for collective healing, for states of consciousness that our modern world rarely permits. What I once offered through 30 years of music and mantra, I now provide through light and sacred geometry”
The Transformation
Today, Darren creates mathematical art and neuromodulation applications at Wave Harmony Space, interactive tools for meditation and consciousness expansion. After months of intensive AI-assisted “Vibe Coding”, he’s produced over 400 original artworks and realised a thirty-year dream: creating his own software capable of generating huge billboard-scale, pixel-perfect imagery for print and projection.
His geometric art brand Psyvector translates these explorations into wearable form, with over 100 designs launching Winter 2025.
Working with a new set of capabilities, he is painting with light.
